JonPaulPrime Update and Stuff (2013)

So Obama was re-eletected. Consider this a very belated "yippie he won!" post; sorry for the delay. What else.... let's see.... well, the world ended up not ending on December 21st, 2012. Lately I've been doing some things marginally more important than blogging. Closed my YouTube channel a couple of months ago. Making videos was a fun hobby and all, but enough is enough. Moving on!

Anyway.... did you hear Stickam closed down? That was unexpected, but not particularly surprising. The quality of the discourse there was never very good, even in the "serious" rooms. Foul-mouthed stoners with shitty attitudes and way too much free time on their hands tended to dominate the rooms. Thanks to them, Stickam slowly but surely deteriorated into little more than a cyber crack house.

Many people fail to appreciate how new the World Wide Web really is. I see the Internet as this amazing tool which absolutely has the potential to change the world, despite all the losers & louts habitually misusing it. The potential remains largely untapped, but I believe that could change in the next few years. I hope so, anyway. BTW practically everyone misses the point of KONY 2012 and why it was such an important, unprecedented experiment (a trial run of sorts). The United States of America is home to the most brilliant, most ambitious, most enthusiastic visionaries in the entire world. One day some American Dreamer will come along and figure out a way to really use the 'net to make this profoundly disturbed world a better place!

Romney the Divider

Did you know yesterday was the One Year Anniversary of Occupy Wall Street? Kind of hard to believe, huh? Time certainly flies, and the reliably fickle general public pretty much stopped caring about #OWS months ago (which doesn't mean it isn't important anymore, it simply means the MSM pretends OWS no longer exists, just as it pretends Fukushima no longer exists). Back in January people still cared, and that was the month Willard Mitt Romney chided an innocent bystander for asking him a perfectly fair question about Occupy. Romney immediately pointed his finger at the poor guy and sharply criticized the entire Occupy Movement because the Occupiers "want to divide America" between the 99% and the 1%. Why would a simple question about OWS provoke such a visceral, kneejerk response from Romney? Some new information has surfaced which answers this question. Based on this new information, we know now that Mitt Romney already thinks America is a profoundly divided nation. We know this because MotherJones.com released a video from a $50,000 a plate campaign fundraiser which Romney attended back in May. No one was allowed to record the event, but thankfully someone did anyway; an unknown cameraman surreptitiously captured the candidate's entire speech. During the speech, Mitt Romney expressed his true, unvarnished opinion of the American people. Romney stated that 47% of the people in this country don't pay taxes and "consider themselves to be victims" and will therefore vote for Obama no matter what. Tagg's Dad went on to say that he doesn't intend to waste any of his valuable time attempting to convince those people ("the victims") to vote for him.

The implications of this truly staggering revelation are crystal clear: Willard Mitt Romney doesn't give a decaffeinated crap about 47% of the country! 47% of the PEOPLE! He only cares about the wealthy half of the country. Specifically, the have-lots who can afford to shell out $50,000 to listen to him talk.

Romney held an emergency press conference last night to "clarify" his "off the cuff" remarks. Too late, Mitt. It's over. Nice try tho.

The Devil's Advocate: Paul Ryan (...and Grover Norquist is the Devil)

Every Republican who signed GN's pledge essentially signed a deal with the devil. Grover Norquist is the personification of evil. He represents everything that is fundamentally wrong with today's Republican Party. Even Jeb Bush has spoken out against the Norquist No Tax Pledge, and I say good for Jeb Bush. A man who just so happens to be my former governor. To be clear, I don't like Jeb. Or his family. At all. But I'd take Jeb any day over the deranged Tea Party-programmed current governor of Florida, Rick Scott.

GROVER NORQUIST is the DEVIL, and the devil's very happy that Mitt Romney chose Paul Ryan to be his running mate. Here's something rather remarkable Grover said a few weeks ago: "We don't need a president to tell us in what direction to go. We know what direction to go. We want the Ryan budget. We just need a president to sign this stuff. Pick a Republican with enough working digits to handle a pen to become president of the United States."

There you have it, folks: "We want the Ryan Budget."

P.S. Paul Ryan is also a big admirer of Ayn Rand. Or rather, he "used" to be. Right, Ryan. That's sort of like saying he used to admire Hitler.

(update 8/21: It gets worse, folks. Not only did Representative Ryan "used to" admire Ayn Rand. Paul Ryan also "used to" agree with Republican Todd Akin, the hideous monster from Missouri who believes women should have to give birth to the babies of rapists.)
